Akita - Guide to Akitas

AkitaDescription: This breed derives its name from an island north of Japan, known as the Prefecture of Akita. The Akita, dating back some 300 years, descends from the Spitz family of dogs. Height: The height for an Akita is 26" (66cm) for dogs, 24" (61cm) for bitches.

Weight: The weight for an Akita is between 75 - 110 lbs (33.5 - 49.1 kg)
